During the past decade, the Knights of Columbus has donated more than $1.325 billion to charity.

The Knights of Columbus set new all-time records for charitable donations and volunteer service hours in 2008.

The figure includes $32,295,376 donated by the Supreme Council, and $117,741,489 in contributions from state and local councils assemblies and Squires circles.

The survey also indicated that the quantity of volunteer service hours to charitable causes by Knights grew to 68,783,653 – an increase of 87,885 hours compared to 2007. There were more than 413,000 Knights of Columbus blood donations during the year and, among the most common service programs, Habitat for Humanity received 156,295 K of C volunteer hours.

The Knights of Columbus has been promoting a Year of the Volunteer and sponsored a summit on volunteerism, A Nation of Neighbors Helping Neighbors, in New York Feb. 27, to promoted increased participation and collaboration in volunteer efforts from individuals and organizations.

Cumulative figures show that during the past decade, the Knights of Columbus has donated more than $1.325 billion to charity, and provided nearly 626 million hours of volunteer service in support of charitable initiatives.

Knights of Columbus Delaware Council 1056

In 2009 Delaware Council 1056 contributed 100's of hours to community service and $1,000's of dollars in contributions to our St. Mary's Parish, Charities, Youth groups, local community, events and other worthy causes.

Knights of Columbus also Sponsors the annual Basket Ball Free Throw Contest every year for local youths. This years winners can be viewed in the February News Letter.

This year 2010 during Lenten season, the Knights of Columbus will have spent over 500 hours supporting our annual Lenten Fish Fry. This is one of the largest services we provided to our parish. The Knights of Columbus 1056 have been providing this service for over 7 years. It's really about bringing our Parish family's together to share in our faith and enjoy a wonderful meal. Any proceeds raised are contributed to charitable organizations and worthy causes. Dinners are open to the public and we encourage anyone to come and join us. The Delaware Knights of Columbus Council 1056 extends many Thanks to everyone in the parish and community that supports this event.

5/28/2010 -5/29/2010 : For the annual St. Mary's Church Picnic: The Knights of Columbus, Delaware Council 1056 moved all of the folding chairs and table from the St. Mary Church commons to Cashman's Farm and back.  The Knight also hosted a Corn Hole Tournament at the picnic. Thanks to all the Knight's that helped.
